What to expect

The details homeowners ask about most.

Every home is different. Your written project documents will define the exact scope, products, responsibilities, pricing, and timing.

01Do you work on existing homes and new construction?

Yes. We consider retrofit projects, renovations, and new construction. The right approach depends on available wiring, access, finishes, construction stage, project goals, and the systems already in place. Involving us early in a renovation or new build usually creates more options and helps reduce avoidable rework.

02Can you upgrade an existing smart-home system?

Often, yes. We first review the existing equipment, network, wiring, accounts, compatibility, condition, and manufacturer support. Some components may be reusable while others may limit reliability or future expansion. We explain those findings before recommending an upgrade path.

03Which brands and platforms do you support?

We do not assume that one brand is right for every home. Recommendations are based on compatibility, reliability, serviceability, design goals, availability, and budget. Brand or platform decisions are confirmed during planning; a website reference does not imply dealer, partner, or certification status unless expressly stated.

04Do you provide networking and Wi-Fi assessments?

Networking is considered the foundation of a connected home. We can review coverage, equipment location, wired connections, device demand, rack organization, and the current network environment as part of an agreed project scope. Recommendations depend on the property and the services available at that location.

05Can you coordinate with builders, remodelers, and designers?

Yes. Early technology coordination can help protect wiring paths, equipment locations, millwork details, ventilation, power requirements, and finish decisions. Our role is limited to the technology scope in the written agreement and does not replace architects, engineers, electricians, inspectors, or other licensed professionals when their services are required.

06Do you install cameras and access-control systems?

We can plan and integrate agreed cameras, smart locks, entry devices, alerts, and related network requirements. These systems can support awareness and convenience, but they cannot guarantee prevention of intrusion, loss, injury, or equipment failure. Monitoring, emergency dispatch, subscriptions, and life-safety services are included only when expressly stated in a signed agreement.

07How does the consultation process work?

It begins with a conversation about the home, priorities, challenges, timing, and budget range. When the project appears to be a fit, the next step may include a site review and a written scope covering the proposed solution, responsibilities, assumptions, exclusions, and pricing before work begins.

08What areas around Houston do you serve?

Our primary service area includes Houston, River Oaks, Memorial, The Heights, West University, Bellaire, Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands. Nearby locations may also be considered depending on project scope, scheduling, site requirements, and the support expected after installation.

09Do you offer ongoing support?

Support needs vary by system and project. Final testing and an understandable handoff are part of the agreed installation process. Ongoing maintenance, monitoring, subscriptions, remote support, or future service can be discussed separately and will be described in writing when included.

10How are estimates, equipment, and timelines handled?

Preliminary conversations and website descriptions are not binding estimates. Final recommendations, pricing, equipment, deposits, and scheduling are set out in written project documents. Availability, site conditions, construction progress, third-party work, shipping, and client decisions can affect cost and timing.
